ETM 5461 - Intellectual Property and Patent Law
One (1) semester hour. Prerequisite: Admission to the MSETM program or consent of instructor. Description/Objective: Overview of intellectual property laws and management of intellectual property. Explore ways to mange intellectual property from conception through production and licensing. Topics include types of intellectual property and associated legal issues and management processes.

This course is a one-credit hour course offered over five weeks in the first third of the semester and counts as an elective in the MSETM program and the Certificate in ETM. The MSETM curriculum requires a minimum of 3, one-credit-hour electives. Note that if students take more than three, they should plan to take others in multiples of three.
